Socially Responsible Investment, SRI is an investment strategy that considers both the economic, social and environmental aspects in their investments. In Swedish, it is common to use the words responsible (ansvarsfull) or ethical (etisk) investment.
There are different ways to work with responsible investments. One way is to avoid investments in industries you do not want to be associated with, such as tobacco, alcohol and weapons industries. Another way is to instead select companies that meet the requirements of what is a responsible company, that they follow the conventions and other arrangements established in the UN and ILO.
There is also the SRI index ranking which means that you as an investor buy an index that corporate CSR activities are ranked according to the "best in class” approach including a variety of companies. An influential SRI Index, for example, is the [[Dow Jones Sustainable Index]].
Another type of responsible investment is the so-called active operation in which the investor actively is trying to influence the companies to act on CSR issues and promote dialogues with management or general meetings to discuss the issues. Today there are varieties of ethical or sustainability funds to choose from if you want to save responsibly.
