There are two types of textile fibres made from bamboo raw material, bamboo linen and bamboo viscose.
Bamboo linen
Natural bamboo is taken from the plant and spun directly without chemical modification to the threads. The fibre structure is agreeable, pleasant and absorbing. It has a silky feel to it is finely spun yarns even though it is made of bast fibres.
Bamboo viscose
Bamboo viscose are made from bamboo fibre in a manner similar to the fabrication of viscose from other cellulosic fibres. Reportedly bamboo viscose may have antibacterial properties that make it suitable for use in certain products such as dishcloths. The fibres are often cut to approximately 50 mm long staples and are then spun to threads.
