The lifetimes project
English (en) svenska (sv)
"The lifetimes project" was a small research project focusig on exploring the opportunities to develop more sustainable textile products by being more open towards current users and ideas. The purpose of the project was trying to develop a more sustainable and complex model for clothing design, which took into account patterns of usage, fashion aspects and the durability of the clothing. How we use clothes, is important to understand in order to knor what clothes we should design. The design should be based on points of "time" and "use", taking into account the functional value and the symbolic value of fashion. The project was financed by an arts- and humanistic oriented research board, and behind the project were Kate Fletcher and Mathilda Tham. The project consisted of four design scenarios called "one-night-wonder", "fancy pants", "who wears the trousers?" and "great coat".
