Sustainable development, a concept that was introduced globally in the UN report "Our Common Future" (1987), known as the Brundtland Report. It defines sustainable development as development that "... meet present needs without compromising those of future generations to meet their needs".
Sustainable development has three components:
- Ecological sustainability
- Social Sustainability
- Economic sustainability
