The official trade union organization in China is named All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU). The ACFTU is the only approved trade union organization in China and is linked to the Communist Party. The organization often accused of being in conflict of interest between running the party's interests and of the workers.
If workers are denied their legal rights by his/hers employer and wants to claim them, there are three levels at the ACFTU. The first is mediation between the employer and the employee. ACFTU will act as a mediator and not the employee representatives. The next step is labor arbitration between local partners and the third step is civil court.
